Overview

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) provides strategic HR support to Ipas’s US departments. This position is responsible for the successful implementation of various Ipas HR programs and initiatives including performance management, benefits administration, and employee relations. The position reports to the HR Director and is based in Chapel Hill, NC.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains new employee orientation and training process
• Manages annual and periodic employee feedback/review process
• Monitors and coordinates record keeping
• Manages employee relations issues, coaching, and performance feedback
• Reviews and manages the Consultant engagement process and tracks consulting relationships; mitigates risks associated with contractors and consultants
• Facilitates change management and crisis intervention across the organization
• Manages voluntary and involuntary separations, including conducting exit interviews and managing the separation process
• Analyses trends in turnover, hiring, promotions, and separations to determine support or actions needed
• Collaborates with staff to assist in interpretation of insurance benefits
• Designs and manages annual employee engagement survey and outcome reporting
• Maintains the Employee Handbook including review of policies, communication, training and training documentation
• Interprets policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable HR-related laws and regulations
• Develops and facilitates training and development in collaboration with the Training and Development Manager
• Develops and manages employee recognition program

Requirements

Minimum
• BS degree in Human Resources Management or related field or equivalent experience
• 7+ years experience in a Human Resources Business Partner capacity
• HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM)
• 3+ years experience managing people
• Ability to relate to, influence, and coach employees at all levels in the organization
• Resilient and unflappable
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high level of energy and optimism
• Excellent customer focus and team work; previous experience working with all management levels
• Self-starter, motivated, organized, detailed-oriented and able to handle simultaneous projects/priorities and work both independently and as part of a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of US employment laws, regulations, and common practice related to managing human resources (HIPAA, ADA, EEO, etc.)

• HRIS experience
• Strong conflict negotiation skills; able to influence, deliver constructive advice, diagnose and resolve problems and positively influence change
• Ability to switch between strategic and tactical views of the project as necessary
• Strong leadership skills, oral and written communication skills, presentation skills & problem solving
• Highly organized, accountable, and independent
