  • Overview

    Ipas’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), Training and Development Manager is responsible for improving the development and productivity of Ipas staff through training and aligning the learning functions to the organization’s strategic goals.  This position will lead and implement the DEI strategic initiatives for the global organization to include establishing best practices and identifying programs to remove barriers that affect staff diversity, retention and advancement.  The role will help build strong cultural competence in leaders and enhance Ipas’s ability to act as a collaborative business partner with all staff.  The position evaluates organization wide developmental needs to drive Ipas staff training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for staff.  This role actively explores, designs and implements effective methods to educate staff and enhance performance.  This is a unique and highly visible position that requires a wide range of skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Overall responsibility for HR training and development utilizing adult learning principles. Collaborating with management, and ownership for initiatives and programs.
    • Develop and implement our organizational learning and development strategy for training initiatives.
    • Evaluate, monitor, measure and report the learning and development activities throughout the organization to promote continuous improvement through training needs analysis, developing training plans and identifying training resources and materials.
    • Partner with all levels of the organization and outside resources to help identify and implement training directives.
    • Maximize existing technology, Polaris, for scheduling, delivering and recording development and training curriculums and assignments.
    • Develop evaluation systems to ensure that the strategic goal of the learning and development initiatives are achieving a desired return on investment.
    • Develops coaching strategies, implements dialogues that address specific concerns and issues, and oversees resolution of conflicts/disputes relating to diversity and/or cross- cultural initiatives and activities. Including leading After Action Reviews, (AARs) to support a learning culture.
    • Collaborate with other training staff to maximize training efforts and to minimize duplication of efforts.
    • Maintain awareness of global issues and trends in diversity and inclusion and use emerging information to educate workforce. Coach and mentor hiring managers, human resources, and senior leadership on diversity issues and trends. Leads development of staff to support a strong focus on inclusion in the workplace.
    • Keeps current on diversity programs and developments by maintaining contact with others in the field (e.g., professional association and educational groups, and professional development efforts).
    • Creates instruments linking diversity and cross-cultural awareness to the organization's performance management processes and the business plan. Track and report key metrics.
    • Stay abreast of new training technology, resources, tools and strategies to ensure Ipas continues to move forward with effective and current training solutions.
    • Ability to travel globally up to 20%

    Requirements

    Minimum

    • Bachelor’s degree in Training & Development, Human Resources, Education or related field; or equivalent years of experience specializing in HR, Training or Organizational Development; experience in adult learning and development principles.
    • 5+ years of Human Resources, Adult Education, or Training experience.
    • 3+ years of Management experience, or equivalent.
    • Highly organized, proactive, responsible, and independent.
    • High energy, creative, enthusiastic, motivational training style
    • Demonstrated ability in training methodologies, curriculum development and soft skills (Communication skills, critical thinking, team building, time management, etc.)
    • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate information to all levels of the organization.
    • Strong commitment and alignment of values with those of the organization.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing or overlapping priorities.
    • Must be flexible, compassionate, and a good problem-solver.
    • Ability to manage challenging and uncomfortable topics with every level in the workplace.
    • Ability to separate personal opinion from key messages important to the organization.
    • Must be able to drive results without disenfranchising stakeholders or beneficiaries, but at the same time not backing down from a challenge.
    • Even temperament under stress and pressure and proven resilience in the workplace.
    • Proven ability to build relationships and deepen connections with diverse people, groups, and communities across all races, genders, sexual orientations, and generations.
    • Demonstrated skills in organizational change management processes.
    • Exemplary leadership skills and the ability to influence decision-making.
    • Excellent project and program management skills.
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Word)

    Preferred

    A Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP)
